LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has appointed Thomas Cappello to the position of executive vice president and chief risk officer, the company announced today in a news release.
Cappello joins LPL from Bank of America, where he served as managing director, enterprise strategic risk executive, and chief risk officer for the Investment Solutions Group.
In his new role with LPL, Cappello will be responsible for the firm’s risk functions, including Enterprise Risk Management, Business Risk Management, and Product Risk Management.
Cappello will be based at the firm’s Fort Mill, S.C. headquarters, and will report to Michelle Oroschakoff, LPL managing director and chief legal officer. LPL also has headquarters in San Diego and Boston.
